Check schema
Use Check schema to inspect the structured data on a page you control. It helps you see which schema types the page exposes, whether key properties are present, and what you could improve before asking a developer to update the site.
Check a page
Section titled “Check a page”Enter the full address of the public page and select Check. The field is needed on this page even though its placeholder says optional, and it is not filled with your project’s domain. A URL without https:// is treated as HTTPS. The page must be publicly reachable: pages behind a login, drafts, or local previews cannot be checked. Check one page at a time; to review many pages in one run, use WWW Audits. The report identifies the URL it checked, the number of schemas found, and whether the detected required fields pass validation.
If the page has no schema, the report says so and suggests a fixed set of schema types that may fit common site content, such as Organization, WebPage, Service, or Article. These suggestions are starting points; choose structured data that accurately describes the page.
Read the results
Section titled “Read the results”The checker reads JSON-LD and, when it cannot parse any JSON-LD block, attempts to read Microdata markup from the page; it does not infer structured data from ordinary visible text or use a sitemap. Each detected schema object has its own status. A page can contain several objects, including more than one of the same type. Required properties are marked present or missing; recommended properties are shown separately. Missing required properties make that schema invalid in the report. Missing recommended properties are improvement suggestions and do not change the required-field status. Markup added only after browser-side JavaScript runs may not be detected.
A recommended field marked add to improve SEO is optional; adding it gives search engines and AI assistants more detail.
When the page has structured data, AI Recommendations lists up to six suggestions ordered by priority (high, medium, low), written in the language you use in PromptEye. When no structured data is found, you get the fixed list of suggested types instead. Treat AI recommendations as guidance to review against the page and your business facts.
Results are not saved. If you leave the page, run the check again. A check only reads the page; it does not change your website, your project, or your Visibility results. A valid result means the checker found the required fields it evaluates; it does not guarantee rich search results, indexing, AI citations, or that every consumer of structured data will interpret it the same way.
Improve or generate schema
Section titled “Improve or generate schema”Use Generate schema to open the separate Schema Generator. Choose a schema type, fill in the fields that describe your page, and copy the JSON-LD script from the preview. The generator prepares code for you to add to your site; it does not publish or install that code. Have whoever maintains the site add it to the appropriate page, then check the page again.
Common questions
Section titled “Common questions”What URL should I enter?
Section titled “What URL should I enter?”Enter the full public URL of the page whose structured data you want to inspect. The address is required, even though the field’s placeholder says optional.
Why does it find zero schemas?
Section titled “Why does it find zero schemas?”The checked page did not expose structured data that this checker recognized. Confirm the URL is the intended public page and that its JSON-LD or Microdata is deployed there, then check again. Malformed JSON-LD blocks are ignored. If markup is added only after client-side JavaScript runs, check whether it is also present in the page response the checker can fetch. A sitemap XML file is not required for this check.
Does “valid” mean my page will get a rich result or AI citation?
Section titled “Does “valid” mean my page will get a rich result or AI citation?”No. The status reflects required fields evaluated in each detected schema object. A page can show several objects and more than one result for a schema type. Search features and AI systems apply their own eligibility and selection rules.
Does Generate schema change my website?
Section titled “Does Generate schema change my website?”No. The generator offers a defined set of schema types, creates a JSON-LD preview, and lets you copy the script. A site editor or developer must add it to the page. Check the same public URL again afterward to confirm the markup was detected. See Schema Generator for its fields, copy behavior, and limits.
